El Caballero studio & live percussion

El Caballero percussionist Ruben de Ruiter has played with well-known and unknown artists, bands and orchestras at festivals and venues in the Netherlands and abroad. He also played in musical and theater productions, in television and radio programs and made recordings in his home studio and other sound studios.

Some hilights from the last years:

As in all previous years, Ruben can again be heard and seen live on various stages in various band line-ups in 2024.

In 2023, several songs were released for which Ruben provided the percussion tracks in his home studio. Listen to this Spotify playlist for the latest (and some older) songs that he contributed to. And listen especially to his recordings with the legendary double bass player Ron Carter.

In 2022 and 2023 Ruben recorded several songs for the great jazz pianist and composer Tobin Mueller. They worked together again in 2024. In Januari 2025 the album ‘Fragments’ will be release. Ruben has taken care of the percussion for all songs on this album

Ruben recorded all the percussion for the latest album of the nine-piece afrobeat powerhouse Zitakula from Amsterdam. This album will be released in the (nearby) future. Ruben toured a number of festival summers with this great band.

In 2020 Ruben played the percussion parts on the soundtrack of the short movie about the impact of the corona pandemic in New York: 'New York 2020', with the great John Patitucci on double bass.

At Disney's The Lion King, percussion is elementary. Ruben played percussion in this musical at the Circustheater in Scheveningen.
